Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Muakz ("Muakz", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Muakz mobile and web applications, the muakz.app website, and any related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. Email address, display name, date of birth, and any profile details you choose to add (for example, photos, bio, gender, preferences).
- Content you create. Messages, scene transcripts, prompts you send to the AI narrator and AI companions, reactions, and reports you submit.
- Usage and device data. IP address, device identifiers, operating system, app version, language, crash logs, pages and screens you visit, and approximate location derived from your IP. We do not collect precise GPS location unless you explicitly enable location-based matching.
- Payment data. Subscriptions are processed by Apple, Google, or another payment provider. Muakz receives confirmation that a purchase happened and the subscription tier, but does not receive your full payment details.
- Support and safety data. Communications you send to support or safety teams, and information generated by our automated and human moderation systems.
2. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Match you with other users and generate AI-narrated scenes and AI companion responses.
- Personalize your experience and remember your preferences and "memory" entries you let companions keep.
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, harassment, and other Terms violations.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Send you transactional messages (account, billing, safety, important product changes) and, if you opt in, marketing messages.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
3. AI processing
To generate narration and companion replies, we send relevant parts of your scene context (such as recent messages, the active scene description, and any saved memory entries) to AI model providers acting on our behalf. These providers process the data only to return a response and are contractually prohibited from using it to train their own models. You can review and edit what companions remember about you, or clear that memory, in your account settings.
4. How we share information
We share information only in the following situations:
- With other users. Profile details you choose to make visible, and messages you send within a scene or chat, are shared with the people in that conversation.
- With service providers. Hosting, analytics, crash reporting, AI model providers, payment processors, email, and customer support tools, all bound by data-protection agreements.
- For safety and legal reasons. When we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, respond to valid legal process, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.
- In a corporate transaction. If Muakz is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
The Muakz website uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, security, and basic analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Service works.
6. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where retention is required (for example, fraud prevention or legal compliance).
7. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security review. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information and to notify affected users if a security incident occurs.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Port your data to another service.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
You can manage most of these directly in the Muakz app under Settings. For anything else, contact privacy@muakz.app.
9. Children
Muakz is for adults only. The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact safety@muakz.app and we will remove the account.
10. International transfers
Muakz operates internationally. Your information may be processed in countries other than the one in which you live. When we transfer personal information outside your region, we use appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect it.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If a change is material, we will give you reasonable notice (for example, in-app or by email). Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
